The home of thousands of books of different categories and different authors some are subject books some are novels some are encyclopedias all are found in a place known as the library. Management of all the books in the library is a bit difficult task for the librarian to maintain all the records alone like books issued, a number of books left in the existing system barcode technology were used but RFID technology overtook it because it is far more superior than barcode technology.
RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification system it is defined as the new generation of auto-identification and data collection technology to automate a various big business process. This technology is finally used in library management system.
RFID in the library management system allows faster transactions of flow of books with remarkable security and visibility.
RFID in the library is the proposed system that works with RFID readers, supported with the antenna at the transaction section the library cards that are issued contains RFID transponders in which all the information are electronically stored like General information of the issuer all the work is done without any physical contact with the help of a radio medium.
RFID in library management involves fast issuing, reissuing, and returning of books. All the information regarding book and library member. RFID also offers monitoring and searching option In monitoring, all the movement of books is continuously monitored across the gate if books were taken out then it will make the librarian alarm regarding this in the searching module the physical location of the book is easily located.
Technology Used in the project RFID Based Library Management System
Software component for the project to develop user interface for (RFID Based Library Management System)
- Embedded C Language : All the hardware interface coding has been done in Embedded C Language
- PHP : All the business logic and the web interface has been written in PHP
- MySQL : MySQL database has been used as database for the project
- Apache 2 : The web interface is running over the apache2 server
- JavaScript : For from validations and animation effects
- JQuery Library : We have used many of the jQuery Library in the project such as Calendar
